...making known God's love in Jesus Christ... |

The Net"The
Net" is one of Barclay’s house groups made up of approximately 25 members
of the congregation in their 20s-40s. We
meet every Thursday (7.30 – 9.45pm) in a different member’s home and have a
programme of bible studies, worship and social events.
On our bible study evenings, we split into groups of 6 to 8 people, with
different members of our group leading the studies.
We use study guides to help us focus our discussions, and throughout the
year our programme covers courses varying from practical Christianity to
biblical ‘book and character’ studies to help and equip us in our daily
lives. The evening concludes with a
time of small group prayer (groups of 2 to 4 people), where members can share
prayer points and by doing so, build relationships and gain support through each
other. Every
6 weeks we hold a prayer and praise evening where there is a focus on local and
worldwide issues. In particular we pray for the Church of Scotland’s and
Christian Aid’s work with the HIV/AIDS Project in Africa and The Vine
Trust’s work with street children in Peru, and their healthcare provision to
remote Amazonian communities.
An important part of The Net is to encourage friendships
and so various social events are part of our regular programme, including 2
weekends away each year. Members
of the group are encouraged to bring friends along to these events, and new
people are welcome to join us for any of our social and study evenings. Members of The Net
attend both morning and evening services, and if you are
interested in joining or receiving further information about our programme
please ask to speak to Katy, Alison or any other member of The Net.
Alternatively please email
us. We aim to deepen our knowledge,
understanding and love of God and to enjoy deep, encouraging and supportive
friendships with each other so that we will be equipped to do God’s will and
share God’s love.
